Rob & Rhian looking for a suitable POD location Rhian & Len 06/12/02

A dark start from Swansea turned into a clear, bright day upon the sea.  Three cheers for the good ship Noctiluca and for her fine skipper Keith Naylor.

After a certain amount of chin scratching the final location of the PODS was agreed and in they went.  As this was the first launch, this was a nerve wracking, but in the end, trouble free, process.

That's about it really.  Everything seemed to go really well.

We'll be picking them up and checking them before Christmas to check that they are recording properly, until then, we've just got to hold our breath.

Along our route we saw two Harbour porpoises, a grey seal and four red-throated divers.  Additionally, we also saw Guillimot and a variety of gull species.

Sea state, calm.  Cloud cover, minimal.  All in all a good, if tiring, day.
